class of 2009 mindset list
Beloit College comes out with this list every year, just to make you feel old.
Notable facts about students entering university this fall (who were mostly born in 1987):
- They don’t remember when “cut and paste” involved scissors.
- Pixar has always existed.
- They have grown up in a single superpower world.
- Les Miserables has always been on stage.
- Salman Rushdie has always been watching over his shoulder.
- America’s Funniest Home Videos has always been on television.
Dear sweet Jeebus.
They have never lived in a world without America’s Funniest Home Videos.
Those poor poor poor children.
I’m just constantly saddened knowing that children now will likely never experience dangerous (i.e. really fun) playground equipment.
