beth on bourbon street... at 6 pm... on a sunday night

We went on our honeymoon this March. We got to see the Mayan ruins at Chichin Itza. We got to lounge on the beaches of Cozumel. We got to gorge ourselves on a cruise ship for five days.

But our favourite memories all took place during the four days we got to spend in New Orleans.

Sitting in Jackson Square, drinking our cafe au lait and eating our beignets. Waking through Lafayette Cemetery on a muggy Sunday afternoon. Watching Beth stalk Ann Rice’s and Trent Reznor’s respective houses. Strolling through the French Quarter. Sitting on the floor in the very front row at Preservation Hall, three feet from the band. Mufalettas.

Katrina is due to hit very soon. My thoughts are with you New Orleans. Stay safe.
