feel like getting your heart broken?

The Saddest Thing I Own is one of the… well, saddest things I’ve found online in a long time.

But, it’s also oddly cathartic*.

Currently, a picture I sent into them is on their site (which I’ve posted here before).

Damn. I think I need some cute pictures of hedgehogs right now to cheer me up.

[Plaintive typing sounds.]

No! That doesn’t help!

[Manic typing sounds.]

Ahhhh. That’s better.

* Just a quick note — “cathartic” is definitely being used as an adjective here, NOT a noun.

Or is it?

[Frantic shuffling noise. Sound of chair being knocked over. Door slammed. Sound of running footsteps. Scene.]

    So sad.

    I actually saw this link (maybe on boingboing?) a few days ago, and honestly thought about sending it to you. It reminded me of your photos of the home for orphan boys and the ducks that fell through the grate. And then here you are, with that picture on their site. Weird.

    So sad.

    Funny. I can’t look at the ducks without thinking of your happy ending. So it’s not sad for me any more. :-)
