my geek funny bone is a-quivering
xkcd pleases me. Greatly. (I know Mabel agrees with me.)
However, the past week has seen me snort lukewarm coffee on my screen on two occasions.
And the best thing about it?
99.9% of the populace WILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT.
Let’s test my theory!
Anyone?
[Tumbleweeds roll serenely across my desk.]
Bah. I don’t care what the tumbleweeds say — these are awesomely funny.
…
You know, I do have to say… tumbleweeds are very picturesque.
[The tumbleweeds are pleased by my compliment.]

These two are among my favorites. I even special-posted the first one. It’s uncanny how deeply he understands the geek and nerdly among us.
I wish I had a tumbleweed.

Hey! No Recursing!
That is surprisingly. refreshingly funny. I have some gamer friends who would love it.

I can’t tell you how much it saddens me that I get this. I thought I was geek free, but now? Obviously my significant other has been feeding me Geekios for breakfast without me knowing.

OK, I’ll be brave. Nope. Not even a teeny tiny clue.
April 4th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
Um, it’s lost on me. I am too stoopid to understand those:) Dagnabit!

don’t get either one - but I got the one Mabel posted recently. I guess I am a science geek, not a gamer/IT geek

Okay, it’s time for guessing:
1. Has to do with the book “Ender’s Game”. Which I have not read.
2. D & D? (Does anyone still play that?)
Have I just outed myself as hopelessly not a geek? (in a land where geek = cool)

The first one’s a little lost on me. I’m guessing it’s Ender’s Game, which I haven’t read, but I’ve always meant to.
The second one took me a second. Then it clicked. It’s good. (:

I only got the first one because Radioactive Jam explained it on his blog last week some time. But ask me if I really get it? I don’t.
The second one, though, I do. Pass that bowl of Geekios down here please!

Didn’t get these but had to email the “My Hobby..collecting second takes” one to friends and family. TOO funny …KY and a produce section…snort snortsnicker

I think I get the second one. And I think because of that, I might lose any cool points I gained from not understanding the first. Boo hoo.

RJ: Tumbleweeds are easy. Just make no sense to your coworkers. Eventually, they form all on their own!
Scott: I had to share it here. No one around me would get them. [Gives the stink-eye to nearest co-workers discussing Grey's Anatomy.]
Jessalee: Geekios! Part of a very unbalanced breakfast!
Suldog: All you need is a copy of Ender’s Game, years of playing D&D, and a little too much experience studying algorithms. Then you’ll be good.
RubyLou: Don’t worry. In many circles, that would make you cool.
Not this one though.
g-dog: Good thing about geekdom — it’s very inclusive. We accept all kinds!
Karen: You’re on the border of Geekdom. From where you are, you can see all our toys.
Kym: Another thing about geekdom? It’s like a black hole — you get close enough, there’s no escaping it.
Zeus: Those Geekios taste great, don’t they?
Alison: What is a snortsnicker? Is that a new chocolate bar? Where can I get one? I’m hungry.
Great. Now I’m craving a Snortsnicker.
mike: You know Firefly and BSG. There’s no hope for you.
