amusing the service industry

[At the grocery store. I place our two purchases in front of the cashier.]

My Lovely Wife: Look at that… tampons and pie.

Me: Oh, it’s a party at our place tonight.

[Pause while the cashier laughs so hard that her nose runs a little.]

Cherry pie or cream pie? hehehehe….

Sometimes when i look at all the things in my cart or someone elses I think - jeez, duct tape, whipped cream, feather duster, chocolate syrup, light bulbs and cat litter - yep, there’s a private party tonight…

party hearty! (and why does the fact that it’s *cherry* pie make this especially graphic for me?) actually, when my son is bored a box of tampons and a bowl of water can keep him entertained for hours. (you think I’m joking…)

  3. Zeus Says:

Hmm, we never seem to have that kind of party here. *sigh*

Maybe we need a different pie…

  4. mike Says:

I hope you enjoyed your tampons as much as she enjoyed her pie.

g-dog: Does it make it worse that it was strawberry rhubarb pie?

Joy: Hell no. That would amuse me too. :-)

    Zeus: Or different tampons.

mike: Yes, I did! Thanks for asking! A great time was had by all!

  6. g-dog Says:

Hmm - strawberry rhubarb - what would Dr. Freud say:
Vell, zee strawberry represents the gravid voomb full of zee seeds uf life; and zee rhubarb represents the enlongated and engorged organ of zee male, flushed pink from ezertion. On zee oder hant, zometimez der pie iz just zee pie.

Joy - is food color involved? Somehow I am thinking that at one time there must have been a market with Dead Heads and/or Phish fans for - wait for it…. you guessed it - TIE-DYED TAMPONS! It is not too late - there may be big bucks here!! Pick the colors and make RASTA-PONS. Show your school or team spirit with T-PONS!

g-dog… I don’t know if I will ever be able to eat strawberry-rhubarb pie again.

    Sigh.

make with the yak-yak
