Easy to say
Doesn’t have to do with monkeys per se
Not completely obvious
I like the way it sounds
Kind of sounds like “tucks” as in “mommy tucks you in”
Goes with “tails”, just like monkeys do
OK – no good reason….

No, that would just confuse the kid. Maybe “Curious Sock Monkey?” “Mighty Joe Sock Monkey?” “King Sock Monkey?” “Son Of King Sock Monkey?”

Well, the sock monkey in our house is named Mr. Murphy. Which is the name of the stuffed monkey in my oldest son’s once favourite tv show, Poko. IMO a perfect name for a monkey.
